BOISE, Idaho – Retirement just became that much sweeter, when Armando Almodovar of Ogden discovered he held a jackpot winning ticket from last Wednesday night’s Wild Card draw. “I don’t play very often, just when I visit my family in Idaho,” said Almodovar.
“My daughter is a flight attendant, so that enables me to fly for free,” described Almodovar. “I’m able to travel a lot since I’m retired. I was actually planning on flying to Boise for a weekend trip, but since that flight was already full, I decided instead to fly to Twin Falls.” It’s a good thing that he did, because when Armando stopped in at Oasis Stop ‘N Go in Twin Falls the Wild Card ticket that he purchased ended up being worth $275,000!
Wild Card is a multi-state jackpot game played in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. Armando’s jackpot win is Idaho’s 20th since the game began.
Armando split the jackpot prize with his son Armando Jr. and his daughter Angelita. He also plans to give some of his winnings to his church and local charities.
The jackpot for tonight’s Wild Card draw is an estimated $205,000.
